Bear Fence Mountain, Shenandaoh National Park

This is mine and Madeline's favorite dayhike in SNP; we have been there at least a dozen time now. The circuit is only about a mile and a half long and there are no serious inclines, but it has a fantastic rock scramble with great views of the Shenadoah Valley and beyond. We have hiked Bear Fence in all four seasons (the first time we came there was snow and ice on the ground), but autumn is my favorite time to be there.
I really enjoy hiking with Madeline; she very rarely complains and she talks non-stop. I really learn more about her life when we are hiking than at any other time.

These pictures are beautiful, but as I was scrolling through the blog with Walter, I realized that Molly hasn't featured prominently recently. More Molly pictures!

Hello All ! I got here through Alison's blog after Dea left a message on mine. You girls are beautiful and they look as busy and awake as my girls ("awake" is the best word to describe my 6 year old and 1 year old). The pictures of the mountains are also grogeous. Just wanted to say hi.--conseula

Thanks, Conseula! I tend to use the word "busy" to describe them. I like "awake" as an alternative.
