Yellowstone, Day 2

After completing the northern section of Yeloowstone's Grand Loop, we exited the park at West Yellowstone, MT and drove back to Jackson through western Idaho. This is a seed potatoe silo.

Barley fields with the western face of the Tetons as a backdrop. We were about 35 miles from the mountains.

Yellowstone, Day 2

The Gallatin Mountains viewed from Mt. Washburn.

Tower Falls (132')

This near the northern end of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. The vertical columns of basalt near the rim are 50' high.

Mammoth Hot Springs, the location of Yellowstone's park headquarters, is home to one of the largest elk herds in the United States. When we arrived they were running everywhere.
