Parting shot at Max Patch

Max Patch

I experimented with some of the manual settings on my camera. I thought some of the results were nice.

The sun is setting behind the main ridge of the Smokies. Clingman's Dome is the highest peak to the left of the sun.

Max Patch

I drove home from AL on Christmas Day, and Goob and I met in North Carolina for a late afternoon hike. We went to Max Patch, a 4000' bald just east of the Smokies. It was a beautiful day and the views in every direction were awesome. We decided to stay long enough for the sun to go down.

Samford, 12/23

This is the only time I will ask my girls to sit beside Beeson's statue.

The best gifts ever!

I thought the gifts I gave this year were great, but Mel's present to me (a glow-in-the-dark one piece footed fleece pajama) was probably the greatest thing ever. Unfortunately, the photo of me in it is a little obscene; it was a youth size XL.

Sleeping bags and pajamas

The gifts Dea and I gave to the girls this year seemed to revolve around a "sleeping" theme.

Decoration day

I refuse to put ornaments on the Christmas tree, but this year the little girls were old enough to help (if you don't mind four or five ornaments on the same branch).
